Code Blue now offer the HeartCode ACLS Anywhere recertification process for those who have already passed an ACLS course and wish to re-certify using self-directed learning and a skills check.

HeartCode ACLS Anywhere is a CD-based e-learning product that uses microsimulation technology to present realistic patient scenarios. Students are presented with the 10 ACLS Core cases in hospital-based scenarios. While interacting with the program, students assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan based on ACLS guidelines, and provide treatment. Successful completion of the CD-based cognitive component, paired with skills verification provided by an AHA ACLS Instructor meets the requirements for the issuing of an AHA ACLS Provider card to the participant.

The HSE have confirmed that NCHDs are entitled to up to 450 Euro refund following successful completion of an ACLS, PALS, APLS, ATLS, BLS or MedicALS course. Application is made to the NCHD employer by the NCHD and the refund is supplied by the HSE through the MET Office. Please note that the refund is only made on production of a certificate of successful completion. If you do not attend or do not pass the course, you will not get a refund. Payment for the course must still be made up front by the NCHD to Code Blue.

This is how it works...

You MUST sign into the course for each day.

You MUST provide your Medical Council Reg No.

Code Blue will issue a CPD certificate to each candidate who successfully completes the ACLS course. This will be issued with the official AHA/IHF certificate approximately 2 weeks after the course. Example certificate here.

The number of points on the CPD certificate is the MAXIMUM number of points you can get, according to the college that approved the course for CPD. When you submit the CPD cert to your own college, they may not award the full amount of points, depending on your individual day-to-day clinical practice.

You can check with your own college prior to the course to see how many points they would award. Most of Code Blue\'s courses are well-known and widely-applicable resuscitation training. Currently, only ACLS 2-Day courses are approved. We are in the process of getting approval for PALS and Heartcode courses.

Each course has a unique approval number. Code Blue will keep a copy of the sign-in sheets on file so that your college can confirm your attendance.
